Help. I want to put one of the programs in my auto folder that
prevents the mouse selecting something in the top menu-bar unless
I have the button pressed. I have a Mega2 and I've tried a program
called Mouse Protect and one called MacMenu (spelling and names are
approximate), neither seems to have any effect. Is this something
peculiar to the Mega roms? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm assuming that "Mouse Protect" and "MacMenu" are really just renamed copies (or derivatives) of "MouseTrap", the program Dave Small and I wrote for STart a long time ago. If so they will never work on a Mega. The system variables that "MouseTrap" needed hadn't been documented by Atari when we wrote the program (at the time almost nothing had been officialy documented). Since there wasn't an approved method of locating the variables "MouseTrap" had to use fixed addresses. The variables moved in the Mega ROMs so the program doesn't work anymore.
