CHIASSA@UDEM.BITNET (Alyre CHIASSON) (02/16/89)
I have been able to retrieve the help and index files from archive-server@ssyx.ucsc.edu without any problem. However, I get no response to any of my send messages, ex. send binaries/volume2/arcgsh/part01 part02 following the format given in the "help" file. I have also tried using the path command using both "CHIASSA@UDEM.BITNET" recommended in the "help" file as well as the address the server used to send me the help and index files. I have tried the path and send command in different order, included and not included in the subjet heading, and one command tagged to the other, ex. send binaries/volume?/?/path ###@### with no response. I have access to bitnet through "NETNORTH" so I even tried as a path address CHIASSA@UDEM.BITNET.NETNORTH. I've run out of combinations and know no wizards. What I really don't understand is why there is no problem with my address for help and index files but problems for the send command. Perhaps because I am new to the system I am missing something obvious but I would really appreciate any suggestions on whether there is a solution to my problem regarding send messages. It has been 12 days since my first send message so I don't think I've been queued back all this time. Many Thanks Alyre Chiasson Aspiring wizard
