[net.wanted] 1200/75 Communications program on IBM PC

bose@ark.UUCP (Erwin uit de Bos) (10/07/85)

Hello,

Is there anybody out there who knows about a cheap or
maybe even public-domain communications program that
supports 1200/75 baud full duplex communications on
an IBM PC with the standard Async card.

Thanks in advance,

The standard IBM async comm card would need a hardware modification to
operate split speed. Break the run between pin 15 and pin 9 on the 8250,
and feed 16x the receive rate to pin 9. Set the program's speed to the
desired transmit rate and you're in business.

A divide by 96 counter driven by the 1.8432 mHz clock would do the trick.
