What is a good book on how to write device drivers for GEM/VDI? I have a vague idea, but I don't know all the incantations and rituals in getting one into the system. An aside: Will Tim Oren's Progem series ever be compiled into a book/ diskette combo? John Kawakami c60c-3ds@web.berkeley.edu

Speaking of GDOS fonts, does anyone have some info on the format of the font files themselves. I would like to try to work on a program to convert bitmap fonts from other sources (HP compatible soft fonts) into GDOS fonts. -- Mark A. Storin Lake Systems, Milw., WI mark@lakesys.lakesys.COM

Regarding writing GDOS drivers, someone asked a legitimate question along these lines, and Neil Harris' reply was something along the lines of: "This is a complex subject, and you probably wouldn't understand it." From which I inferred there is NO documentation on the subject available from Atari.. (I won't go into what I inferred about Neil Harris from this statement) About the ProGEM articles from Tim Oren... John Brochu, author of PICSWITCH] (among others), sent me the articles with the C code examples appended.. I've already uploaded them to Delphi, and if I could ever remember to, will send them up to CompuServe.. I dunno about submitting them to .binaries from Portal... "it's a complex subject, and I probably wouldn't understand it" If there's enough interest, I could probably give it a shot..! BobR
