With all the messages about Hard Drives and Controllers going on, I have a question. I just bought an Atari Megafile 30. Is the controller in it capable of supporting two Hard drives? I'd like to add another drive to the system soon, and iff possible, I'd like to hook it in through the Megafile. Thanks... _____________________________________________________________________________ Christopher D. Concerning the Megafile 30 : The answer is, look inside. The old SH204 had an atari-made ACSI->SCSI card connected to an adaptec 4000 connected to a seagate 225. The Adaptec cards ARE capable of controlling 2 disk mechs at a time. As I recall, the megafile 20 my friend has had only a single, large board in it. Look for a spare 20 pin connector inside the drive -- probably right next to the connector that attaches to the 30 mb mech. It seems to me that there's not enough room in a megafile for a second mech. If this is the case, a second power supply and etc would bring the total cost up to near the cost of a complete extra drive, which could be daisy-ed through the megafile, right? If there's no other connector, you could always just sell off the current 30mb disk mech and replace it with a larger capacity one. I am rather interested in what exactly IS in a megafile 30, so if you or anyone else knows already or finds out, I'd like to hear. Dan Filner
