I need a diagnostic program that will test the entire RAM space on the ST. I would like one that tests the low (protected) memory as well as the higher memory. I need to check for intermittent memory trouble, so I'd be running this test for several days (or until failure). It would be sufficient for the program to print the failing address and pattern to the printer rather than maintaining a screen display. I thought I had one of these. I know I wrote one back a few years ago, but I cannot find it. I would like to know if one is available PD or for a low price. Also, is there any test that would recognize slowed RAM access? When I'm in low-resolution color, I get funny vertical intensity bars across the screen at what appears to be 16 pixel intervals. The pattern makes the picture look like it is displayed on a surface with a vertical grooved texture like __--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__--__ Does this make sense to anyone? The pattern shifts around when there is any heavy interrupt activity (ie, mouse movements). I get this with my RAM upgrade removed as well as installed, so if it is a RAM problem, it's on the basic 512k RAM (Rev. B motherboard). If I had an osilloscope I might be able to diagnose this myself, but I don't and I can't. Daniel Glasser -- _____________________________________________________________________________ Daniel A.
