[comp.sys.atari.st] Timeworks DTP import limitation

hendrick@fozzy.UUCP (Bill Hendricks) (03/29/89)

To all who are having problems importing large
graphics files into Timeworks DTP, read on...

(Response from Timeworks recv'd on 03/27/89:)
".... Unfortunately you cannot import a file which
is greater than 30-40k of memory. This is an
imherit (sic) limitation in the program and not
considered a bug. No specific plans have been made
to rectify this limitation at this time. ...."

In my case, the 181k .IMG file was imported
and displayed on the screen. The problem arose when
trying to print; after a multitude of accesses
to the hard disk, the hi-res screen went white and
the system locked up. :-(

QUESTION: Does Calamus have this kind of restriction?
The demo is *very* impressive, but confirmation on this
point is required before spending that kind of money.

Thanks in advance for any/all info.
Regards, Bill

P.S. I have no luck trying to respond to E-mail mail
received from outside this mainframe. I think responding
to the network works, if it is done from within "vnews".
