Bob Bright asked about a "new release" of WordPerfect for the ST. The 8/88 version is still the current one, but they are working on a new update that is due out real soon now. James Marshburn, now the sole programmer working on ST development at WP Corp, recently posted a message on GEnie about the update. I've paraphrased and edited his message for interested readers: The new update has.... * now supports the Atari file selector or any of the alternate ones. Selectable from the WP_start.prg You can also now execute WP macros with the File Selector. *Imporved file handling abilities reduces the number of time you need tos wap disks on single drive systems. *Speed has been improved when printing with multiple windows open. *A special printer deffinition whihc lets you print the file to disk and then view the file with the LOOK feature. This will show headers, footers, footnotes, endnotes and page numbers! (none of which you could see on-screen before) *Both the speller and printer utility programs have been updated. *Problems with larger files have now been cleared up. *Asst. improvements in Search, Printing, Widow/Orphan, Columns, math, and foot/endnotes. *Ability to be used on 520ST's with multiple windows has been improved.
