"Checkmate". You've missed the whole point of entrepreneurship: start a company, make it so (potentially) successful that somebody big is willing to pay you big bucks for it, and SELL. That way you get $$ without continued risk. You take a smaller amount TODAY rather than rake your $$ in over the long term. The buyer takes over the risk & responsibility of making money from the company. It's a great racket if you can get into it. One problem a lot of would-be entrepreneurs get stuck on is that they feel emotionally attached to their companies, and can't see when it's time to take the money and run. Instead, they turn down offers, then run the company into the ground.
