Most of the people I work with have PCs with Word Perfect. I cannot begin to estimate the hours of training, retraining and problem solving associated with supporting everyone (e.g. secretary pushes wrong Fkey and her entire document gets underlined; not understanding control codes I'm called over to solve mystery). Yes WP is comprehensive but 90% of people never use 90% of its extensive features. Just post the quick reference card by your machine; Jeez, what a nightmare! We have WP 5 on an AT with an 80287 (Norton SI=12.5). It is amazing how slow WP 5 scrolls graphics in page preview mode (like MS Word on a MAC in a -ve speed time warp). WP 5 for desktop publishing - GIVE ME A BREAK! Any PC appl. for DTP forget it (unless you like waiting for printouts!) WP's feature is it's everywhere on just about every system like some masochistic ST owners on site (not me Bub). Give me Word Writer for basic report writing, TimeWorks DTP for affordable DTP work, a Mega and an SLM804 and except for high end systems I'll beat the pants off of the competition for reporting/DTP work. Chuck in Signum 2 for scientific word processing and I'm smokin' at the keys. Roll in Spectre 128, hey eat my dust! Saddle me with WP and I'll shut my system down!!!!! Just a few unbiased comments. Incidentally, if you drag Atari into the mud it's called FLAMING. What do you call praise for Atari UNFLAMING? (I know this question will get a few rude replies!)
