I'm planning on getting a 65 M/byte drive from 3rd Coast Technologies, has anyone bought a drive from them ? Any comments, good or bad, appreciated. Does anyone know the specs of the 65M/byte drive ? Is it a 28 ns drive ? I heard that the 40 M/byte model consists of a Berkely Microsystems BMS-100 DMA -> SCSI board,an Adaptec 4070 SCSI controller board and a Seagate 251 drive. The main advantages I see with the drive are that a second mech can be added easily, it comes preformatted and most of all the price is low at #549. The main disadvantage I anticipate is with connecting other DMA devices later as there is no DMA through. Is this much of a problem ? Do most other DMA devices provide their own DMA through port ? Thanks in advance for any information, Padraig. ( By the way the price given is in pounds sterling - the pound sign # is always getting converted into $ (dollar) signs on it's way through BITNET. ) _______________________________________________________________________________ | You can see I'm new at this game.. | Internet : H235_016@ccvax.ucd.ie | | Look !
