[comp.sys.atari.st] DeskJet paper

As there's been a lot of interest in the DeskJet lately, I thought I'd put
in my two cents worth. If your DeskJet doesn't print "almost as good as
a laser printer," try changing your paper. DeskJets print badly on super
high-quality laser-printer paper; that paper tends to be a little "furry"
because of the rag content. This is great for making dry toner stick, but
it makes DeskJet ink bleed because the ink is water-based.

My local office-supply shop was kind enough to give me two sheets of each
kind of paper they sold in case-lots; on taking it home and printing a
DeskJet test sheet on each, I discovered that it actually looke the best
on mimeograph paper, which costs about half as much as laser paper. The
mimeo paper didn't appear to have a "best side" either, a phenomenon
common to laser-printer paper.
