[comp.sys.atari.st] ICD host adapter info and software wanted

VBRANDT@DBNUAMA1.BITNET (05/05/89)

Hello everyone,

a while ago I asked for help concerning a Maxtor HD in combination with the
ICD host adapter board. Well, noone replied. I also haven't heard from ICD yet
(hardly surprising, since the snail mail letter is only about 4 weeks gone).

So here's another approach: I'd like to hear from people who successfully
use the ICD host adapter, and specifically from those who have hacked on the
driver, installed any other OS besides TOS (Minix, OS-9, Mirage, RTOS, Mac
emulators, IDRIS, or what ever else there is for the ST). Also, I'd like to
see programs or utilities for the ICD adapter. Is the ICD hard disk performance
evaluation program available anywhere on a server ? Can someone comment on the
'real' version of the ICD cleanup progam ? Is it worth the $20 ?? The demo
version consistenly crashes, zapping even my reset-resident RAM-Disk.

In short, I'd like to hear any- and everything on the ICD board. I'm willing
to share my experience, and also any utilities I might hack together. So far,
I've only disassembled the boot driver, and I won't be able to send that out,
since it's copyrighted code, or so I believe.

Before I forget: I have version 2.31 of the ICD software. Does anyone know
fo a newer version ??

You may post or email me, I'll throw anything interesting back at the net.
Any and all help and info is as usual most welcome.
