I hope this gets through. I am new to this news thing and to UNIX so please bare with me. If anyone can give me some hints, they would be greatly appreciated. Now on to the main topic. I have been autobooting my 1040ST and Supra 20Meg hard drive off the same surge protector for two years now. I am using SUPBOOT.PRG from Supra Utilities V2.62. During power up my 1040 trys to read the floppy about 3 times before my hard drive is up to speed, and then it boots from the hard drive no problem. The only time I have problems is if I leave a disk in drive A:. In which case it locks up the hard drive and boots off the floppy (only during power up). If the drive was already spinning then there is no problem. The only quirk is that after booting from the hard drive at power up, the drive A: light is left on and the drives spinning until a disk is placed in drive A:. Just thought I'd throw in my two sense worth and test out this system. If anyone outthere is in the Seattle area, could you mail me info on PD, User Groups, and anything else you can think of for the ST in the area. Thanx in advance Aaron "The Alchemist" Charlop
