A friend here at the museum would like to get a DeskJet+/WordPerfect combo for word processing. Does anyone have any experience with this on the ST. Is it preferable to use the Epson FX emulation cartridge? How tight is the proportionally spaced output? advTHANKSvance Pavneet Arora ...!utgpu!rom!pavneet Royal Ontario Museum 100 Queen's Park Toronto, Ontario M5S 2C6 (416) 586-5626

I used WP/DeskJet just this last weekend to write a ten page term paper and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. Several of by fellow students commented on how nice the print was. I use the Epson cartridge because it's almost always installed in my printer (for compatibility with nearly every other piece of Atari software, Epson is the Atari standard). WordPerfect thinks it's an Epson and I've never had a problem. I'd even go so far as to say it's easier then using the DJ without a cartridge (but maybe not a font flexible). Personally, I don't care for proportionally spaced print, so I unable to comment on how well the DJ does. >advTHANKSvance Your welcome. >Pavneet Arora P.S. WordPerfect seems to be a memory hog. Ten pages is all it'll do in a standard 520ST. I also recommend a hard disc. I couldn't stand using WP before my hard disc arrived. ----------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- | Bob Waltenspiel | e-mail: bobw@hpsadpe (hplabs!hpsad!..) | | ATE Software Team | Telnet: 794-3091 | | HP Signal Analysis Division | AT&T: (707) 794-3091 | | 1212 Valley House Dr. | HPDesk: Bob WALTENSPIEL/HP5300/A0 | | Rohnert Park, CA 94928-4999 | HP Mailstop: 1UR-M | ----------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
