"WordPerfect seems to be a memory hog. Ten pages is all it'll do in a standard 520ST. I also recommend a hard disc. I couldn't stand using WP before my hard disc arrived." ----- The GTO that I had in the 60's was a gas guzzler, too, but man, could it do THINGS. WordPerfect is not a memory hog if one examines all the features available for it. Script writing, multiple columns, math features, print job priority lists, outlinings, paragraph numbering (for making multiple choice examines [educators]). In this regard, it will take up the memory but does that make it a memory hog? At any rate, WordPerfect works fine with a 520 if one has two drives. Dedicate drive A as the system drive and drive B as the text source drive. Hopefully, these are double sided drives, especially drive A. WordPerfect writes temporary files and room will be needed on the drive or you will have problems. If the 520 has been upgraded to a meg, then tell WordPerfect that the virtual belongs in a ramdisk which you have created. Just type in the path during setup. If the 520 has not been upgraded, have the virtual go to Drive A. Don't remove that disk. The reason that you are limited to only ten pages is because WordPerfect will create a ramdisk automatically for just the virtual unless you tell it otherwise. Larry Rymal <Z4648252@SFAUSTIN.BITNET>
