Before I write one myself, does anyone know of a program for downloading DeskJet fonts to the printer? You don't really need a program to download DeskJet fonts. I generally just do a binary copy of the soft font file to the printer. The only trick is first you must send an: Esc *c#D Where # is the soft font ID that is to be downloaded next. Hence I have a series of files named id1, id2, id3, id4 and so forth. Then I just copy id1 to the printer and then copy the soft font file. I do this all from batch files on my PC but I'm sure the atari lets you do binary copies. As long as you have an editor that lets you embed escapes you should have no problem. By the way, I do this on a PC because it is much faster than our HP supplied DeskJet download program (MS-DOS only of course) -- especially when downloading to a DeskJet+. Dave Neff hpvcfs1!neff Disclaimer: The HP DeskJet is not officially supported on the Atari ST family of computers. If you run into problems when using a DeskJet with an Atari our support line will likely be unable to help you. Our support people have, in the past, tried to help Atari users and software vendors with some Atari related problems but this help is of course lower priority than our main MS-DOS oriented support. I personally will continue to read comp.sys.atari.st and give help when possible until I am told to do otherwise. I am in the R&D lab not in support. My boss does not care if I give a few hours a week helping people over the net but if my time involvement becomes too large he will start to care :-).
