I just had to replace my internal drive on my 1040 (for the third time!!). I am tired of having problems with Chinons, even though they're the cheapest. This time, I got a Toshiba mechanism. I had to cut the case, and bend the internal cable upside down to make it fit, but it seems to work OK. There is one minor, but annoying, problem. When I swap disks, and hit the escape key to get a new directory, the system rarely gives me the new information. I usually get the bee, but the drive doesn't go on, and the old window remains. Somebody told me that I need to add a resistor, as some replacement drives have this problem. Can anybody tell me what type of resistor and where to put it. Thanx. Matt Stone MLS@S40.Prime.Com
