Hello everyone,
Our university computer desubscribed all BitNetters at the end of the
semester and I've just now returned. I've been sitting on the following
WordPerfect announcement from James Marshburn during the entire period. If
this is old news, forgive me. GRIN
The current version that is being beta tested is probably the one
which is going to ship. It appears to be solid, is FAST, and has many
new features although most are not THAT apparent. If the user has a
blittered machine, he will be amazed at the speed difference.
The following are features just added to the latest beta version
and James indicated that it was ok to release details:

* The speller now works better on a 520ST and we added a word count
as it spell checks in the status line.
* There were some minor changes in the list files function. You now
have the disk space available displayed.
*The cursor no longer is displayed when you block text and you can
use the cursor keys after you block something with the mouse to
block more text.
*And now for the GOOD news.... Are you ready?...................The Atari
group has an official programmer again, that means we can start enhancing
our product once more.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
*Step one for right now is to DEVELOP a 4.2 version of WP which will
make it more compatible with WP 5.0. It shouldn't take us too long
do that so, beta testers, get ready for a new version.
