Many NETters know of my dislike for Word Perfect. However, a few simple suggestions for product upgrade: 1. allow an option to use the standard file selector box call on the RETRIEVE file option (then, anyone who has the { UIS-II installed can make use of this incredibly useful utility) 2. have a 'notemaker' mode where a lot of function kyes can be locked out (to prevent new users or occassional WP users from pressing the wrong Fkey and damaging his doc) 3. like Word Writer, put Fkey ICONs on the screen under the working window. New users can shrink the window and view all Fkey defs on the screen without having to use one of those ridiculous key overlays. 4. when a new printer def is added, take out the crazy requirement :{to reselect all current drivers. PLEASE, do this one at least!

Greg Csullog registered a dislike for WordPerfect and suggested a few improvements. Here is a partial response to a few of the items mentioned. >"1. allow an option to use the standard file selector box call on the RETRIEVE > file option (then, anyone who has the { UIS-II installed can make use > of this incredibly useful utility)" The new release allows any optional File Selector box to be used. In fact, beta versions since December have had this feature. Note that WordPerfect has NOT had an official programmer since last Fall until just a few weeks ago. Because of that, things have moved very slowly. >"2. have a 'notemaker' mode where a lot of function kyes can be locked out > (to prevent new users or occassional WP users from pressing the wrong > Fkey and damaging his doc)" ????????? >"3. like Word Writer, put Fkey ICONs on the screen under the working window. > New users can shrink the window and view all Fkey defs on the screen > without having to use one of those ridiculous key overlays." That would be nice, but it would require over forty Fkey ICONs. I would prefer the "ridiculous key overlay" rather than shrinking/unshrinking the window to see the "WordWriterish" Fkey expanations. With WordPerfect's excellent HELP option, I would wonder about the value of such a suggestion. At this point in time with WordPerfect ST's rather fragile existance, I'd shudder at such.
