Howdy! This is my first post, I hope everything goes well. I'm having problems getting the port of GNU BISON (ftp'd from the ter- minator archive) to work. Every time I run it with a valid grammer (one that works on YACC) I get two bombs. I'm using gulam, and have set the envionment variables "BISON_HAIRY" and "BISON_SIMPLE". I'd recently heard that bison doesn't like CR-LF, so I tried gulam's "ue" to make the file, and even wrote a small prog to strip out the CR's. No dice. I have a 1040, tried it with and without a ram-disk, tried it from the desk top, and tried it with no input file (BISON told me I hadn't sup- plied a input file and exited correctly). I thought it might have been a malloc problem or something similar & tiddled around with the source for a while, but when I finally got it to re-compile on Sozobon, it seemed to have the same problem. So what I was wondering was whether anyone has BISON working for them, does it take more than a meg (?!?), and could my problem be CR-LF's that I haven't properly removed? Any replies would be greatly appre- ciated. Oh, and thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Sorry, I'm not home right now, but please leave a massage after the beep * ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon McCarty - Professional Student - pa2342@sdcc15.ucsd.edu (Gotta get me a real mail alias one of these days)

I have had the same problem once, but found somewhere in a readme-file the remark that there should be an environment variable 'TEMP' set to some temporary directory name. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Atze Dijkstra, Dept. of Computer Science, State University of Utrecht ^ ^ Padualaan 14, P.O.
