[net.music] One hundred haircuts, eh?

Does anybody know if Haircut 100 has anything out there
	other than "Pelican West?"

A friend just gave me a tape of the new Culture Club
disc, and a lot of that stuff sound like some kind of
	watered down fagged out Haircut.

Wrong again. Harcut 100 has not broken up. Nick Heyward (sp?) did
leave the band, but MTV (which seems to be very reliable) just
reported yesterday that the group will have a new album out in about
2-3 months.

No flames about MTV, please. :-)

I really enjoyed Haircut 100's Pelican West album, but unfortunately they
have broken up. As far as I know the only other music they did was two
singles and an EP. The singles are Ski Club Of Great Britain, which I
haven't heard (it came out around the same time as the album), and Nobody's
Fool, which I heard and like. (It came out a few months later.) There
was also a two or three song EP, the name of which escapes me, that came
out a few months ago. I haven't heard it. Their main creative force,
Nick Heyward, has done one solo album since leaving the group. I've heard
a couple of songs and they're pretty good, but they're not very much
Haircut 100 so don't rush out and buy it just because you like Pelican West.
I'm not sure whether Haircut 100's recent EP has Heyward on it or not.
He left the group several months before it was released, so maybe it was
recorded by the remaining members after he left. As far as I'm concerned
Haircut 100's biggest strength was their originality. I don't have another
album in my collection that sounds even remotely like theirs. It's an
excellent combination of modern jazz, pop, and even a little new wave.
