Hi fellow mailbox-subscribers! I have a problem with an Atari game which has been bothering me for a long time. Thsi game is called Barbarian 1, a kind of adventure. In this adventure you have to kill monsterous creatures. There's also a fire-blazing dragon. The only way to feeat this dragon is by using a bow and a couple of arrows. ~ defeat There are only two ways of obtaining a bow. One way is to obtain the bow on a wooden platform/bridge. This will undoubtly cost you one of your lifes (or is there a way to prevent this. The other bow is guarded by a heavily armed knight, fighting him seems to be useless, he'll kill you. The questions are:- is there any way at all to obtain a bow without loosing a life? - is there a possibility to save and restore the game? Awaiting your reply, fellows, I remain. <<<<<<<<< It's just me, myself, and I >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I finished Barbarian a long time ago, and could finish it with 2 lives remaining, finding it fairly easy. It is possible to get the bow on the bridge without dying but it requires good timing. As I recall you leap forward several times until you can pick it up and then you INSTANTLY do back somersaults until you're off the collapsing bridge. No problem! Wait until you get to the pendulum! :-) You can kill the dragon without dying, you have to shoot it twice with arrows - fire once as soon as the screen scrolls, then back somersault off the screen! Go back and shoot him again. Good game. --- * Via ProDoor 2.9a --- MaS Relayer v1.00.00 Message gatewayed by MaS Network Software and Consulting/HST96/HST144/V32 for questions or help in replying to messages contact mshiels@tmsoft or michael.shiels@masnet.uucp
