[comp.sys.atari.st] HD drivers?

HAHN_K@DMRHRZ11.BITNET (06/03/89)

Once again: is there a way to use TWO drives with one ADAPTEC (i.e.
within an SCSI-unit) as devices 0 and 1 ??? Sure, I know that the
ADAPTEC is able to control both, but where the hell is a driver that
gives me the opportunity to address them both ? Anyone who knows ?
Anyone who cares ?

Shure it is....... For example I have two 20 Megabyte drives running
at my original Adaptec controller (SH 204). The software is distributed
by "Eickmann Computer". There are several Tests in the German
  magazine "ST Computer".
  But....
it is much cheaper to buy the new "Kleisterscheibe", the disk
of the german book "Scheibenkleister" because there's a new
version of AHDI driver with a maximum of 12 partitions per disc and
2 drives possible......so buy the "ST Computer 6/89" and look at
page 25 ! That will be the solution of your problem.......

Yes, Klaus, this is definitely, and quite easily 'doable'. I've got 2 65MB Maxtor drives
hooked up to an Adaptec controller, addressed as LUN 0 & 1 without any problems.
I'm using Supra's formatting utility and drivers, which automagically recognize both
drives.
