[comp.sys.atari.st] EtherNet and Spectre

Page 102 of the 1989 May issue of MacWorld has an ad for an Adaptec ETHERNET
connector that plugs into the Mac's SCSI port. If a DMA -> SCSI adapter
is acquired for the ST, would it be possible to use the Adaptec ETHERNET
connector under Spectre to attach the ST to ETHERNET as a Mac?

Perhaps Dan Moore can answer this one or forward the question to Dave Small.

In the referenced article, Greg asks if a Mac SCSI-based Ethernet adaptor
would work with Spectre 128.
   It could be made to work with a great deal of software, I suspect,
provided the Mac software uses legal OS calls to get to the NCR SCSI chip.
At present, Spectre provides no access to the Mac's SCSI chip (thus it doesn't
try to map SCSI calls through to Atari ACSI). It's being looked at, though;
lots of folks want CD-ROM players, etc,to work.
