I have ported a GEM application from the IBM to the Atari. Works just fine, except support for the printers was not the same or there in a vanilla Atari system -- I was told I needed GDOS. When GDOS is installed (version 1.1) the work_out array parameters are ALL ZEROS after a v_opnvwk() call. Also it appears that the AES is not set up correctly and many VDI calls don't work! If I get rid of GDOS all is well, except that I don't have the nice GEM printer support I'm looking for (I do have a basic printer driver working using Cconout-like functions). What is going on? Is GDOS used by anyone (or is it USEABLE by anyone)? Hints on programming with GDOS for Atari LaserJet? Any info would be appreciated. (I have tried this on a 520ST and a MEGA4 ST. I have GDOS 1.1 and am using Aztec C and bindings). Wes Whitnah wesw@ozvax.WV.TEK.COM (UUCP)

Believe me... GDOS does* work... -- ||| Ken Badertscher (ames!atari!kbad) ||| Atari R&D System Software Engine / | \ #include <disclaimer>
