I have some questions about the TeX files at the Terminator archive. The archive at atari@terminator.cc.umich.edu lists the following TeX files: tex: total 6453 -rw------- 1 jon 309 May 11 20:59 Index -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 250729 Apr 11 13:05 cm_mf.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 436333 Apr 11 13:06 ctex-bin.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 327284 Apr 11 13:06 ctex-doc.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 715166 Apr 11 13:07 ctex-mac.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 281418 Apr 11 13:07 ctex-src.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 77575 Apr 11 13:07 ctex-tfm.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 239494 Apr 12 02:27 dvieps.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 2357187 Apr 11 13:43 dvifonts.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 221666 Apr 11 13:43 dvist3_2.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 37351 Apr 12 02:43 mf_files.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 98614 Apr 29 21:17 mf_three.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 81218 Apr 29 21:17 mf_two.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 19431 Apr 12 01:25 ms.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 278098 Apr 12 02:54 sttex.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 320592 Apr 12 02:03 texfmt.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 90152 Apr 12 02:09 texfont2.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 97118 Apr 12 02:04 texfonts.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 7918 Apr 12 02:09 texshel2.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 7502 Apr 12 02:04 texshell.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 205440 Apr 12 02:06 texsrc.arc -rw-r--r-- 1 jon 281568 Apr 12 02:07 texst.arc Questions: 1. There appear to be 3 versions of TeX here: ctex, sttex, and texst. Is that right? Which files go together? It looks like texfmt, texfonts, texshel2, texshell, texsrc and texst go together. Right? Obviously the ctex-xxx files go together. Right? 2. What are the differences between them? I have a minimal 1040STf with 1 DSDD floppy. Which should I get? 3. There are also dvi programs: dvieps and dvist3_2. I sent for dvieps and encountered CRC errors during arcing. Any ideas? Does dvifonts work with both dvi programs? What other files do I need to run dvi? 4. What are the rest of the files? As you can see, the TeX files are quite large. So, I don't want to waste net bandwidth getting files I don't need or can't run. Any info would be appreciated.
