I need to buy a hard drive for my 1040. The most important use I have is to use with PC Ditto. I keep the computer in a "public" part of my house and don't have alot of space so under-monitor designs get an automatic extra point with me though I'm willing to consider a 'next-to-monitor' design if your votes are overwhelmingly in favor of that route. I am interested in best price although, despite the fact that I am a hardware engineer, I prefer to not build from scratch (I'm getting "too old for that" and I have aesthetic considerations, too.) I would consider something like the ICD FA*ST kits, however. I'm looking for something in the 80MB range. Please give me your votes on the following points: 1. quality of product (hardware and software) 2. quick delivery 3. quality of support by the manufacturer 4. quality of support by the distributer (if relevant) 5. "Bootability", i.e. does the drive have to be spun up before the ST is powered on? 6. any other positive or negative points on your setup Thanks alot in advance for your help. Please email to one of the addresses below and I'll summarize to the net. If you are unable to mail, I'd still love to see your response posted.
