[comp.sys.atari.st] PC GEM

One netter wrote that ST GEM is one example where the original software is
better than the new stuff. Even though I hate using PCs and YES, many features
of PC GEM stink, it does have some nice features. First, the OUTPUT.APP
code for printing allows mutliple device drivers to be installed. If you
want to switch printing from an EPSON to an HP laser printer, just click on
the ICON. In a business environment, this feature is indispensible. Second,
in the DOS environment, I set up batch files like

D: This batch file is called WP.BAT and I installed
CD:\WORDPROC the ICON for it in the GEMAPPS folder (program
WP %1 ICONs have a variety of forms, I chose the
CD\ typewriter ICON for this batch file). All the
C: program ICONs are in the GEMAPPS folder so I
HELP can launch all apps from one spot. This is GREAT.
