[comp.sys.atari.st] ICD host adapter software.

Hi there,

I just bought a 50MB SCSI harddisk from a german firm (hard & soft herberg).
They mountet a 50MB seagate drive 157N together with a host-adapter from ICD
and a power supply in a metal case and they propably make a lot of money with
it. The software that comes with it is the software that belong to the ICD
host-adapter. the software has versionnumber 3.20 and I have some problems
with it. The main problem being that it is no longer possible to boot from
floppy. The manuals states that I should press alt-ctrl-shift during the
boot process and it will then boot from floppy. The only thing that happens
is that the system does boot only partially: it does not execute any
programs from the auto-folder on floppy or disk (with the exeption perhaps of th
e
program that detects I pressed alt-ctrl-shif), nor are any *.acc files loaded.
I have to disconnect the drive to boot from floppy.
There is an other problem. The host-adapter uses one scsi-address for a clock
which I like very much on a 50MB harddisk. However it seems that it does
not switch dates correctly at 0.00. Maybe this is a special german version
(I have an UK-st) The control panel that comes with it (is that legal???)
showes times in 24 hour system but is german (which I don't like that much)
The control panel I normally use uses the 12 hour system (which btw. I also
don't like), but it in english. Is there perhaps a difference between
the actually stored time and date in the host adapter or atari. Or is
the software faulty. I cannot test this at the moment, because my harddisk
broke down 2 days after I got it.

Any explanation, maybe from ICD????

greetings, frans
