I am sure someone out there has written a driver that will make the
ALT+key work as a META key for remote Emacs. I use UniTerm and have
been very impressed with its performance but would be even happier to
be able use the Alt key as a META key for my Emacs at work. I know
UniTerm has a long list of functions and maybe I missed something and
it is already built-in somehow.

Recent versions of UniTerm do have a meta key. Hit Alt-Caps and "Meta" will appear in your status line. You can then use Alternate as a meta key. Bill Wisner wisner@mica.berkeley.edu ucbvax!mica!wisner It could have been worse. I could have been a Republican.
