My Atari SH204 hard drive has recently been having problems. It didn't want to autoboot, load programs or do much of anything. I had a backup that wasn't too old, so I tried to fromat it with Atari HD Utils V1.7. I got over 150 errors while formatting it before I gave up. I then got Atari HD Utils V3.01. I gave it a shot, and formatted it with no errors. I thought I was in business. I installed the auto boot with the Atari Install program. I then proceeded to reboot and restore. I had previously partitioned it into two ten meg partitions. After the restore, which was about 4 megs of data, I rebooted. The desktop came up with drive C and D there. When I opened up C, most of my directories were only 1 letter. I clicked on some of the folders and they wouldn't open. I also booted with Folder100 program so I know it wasn't the 40 folder bug. I hate to send it back if it is only a minor problem like a bad cable or something. At first I thought it was the drive mechanism, but when it formatted with no errors I changed my mind and am now confused. Can you tell me what it sounds like to you, if that is possible from what I have told you here, or what other options I can try before I have to send it to get fixed/replaced.
