In response to a couple of articles about the PS3000 combo, can someone from Atari Corp. enlighten us about this product. For the unaware, the PS3000 was a combination color monitor and single sided drive, in one housing. My guess is that they were sold with early 520STs, the ones without the built in disk drive. They were available locally (In Sacramento, CA) at Federated stores, and this was before Federated was acquired by Atari Corp. I don't remember what the price was. (This was early-mid 1987??) I believe I might have read in one of the ST magazines that this was a limited production peripheral. I didn't have an ST at the time, so my memory is rather fragmented about the PS3000 (pun intended). So, Atari Corp., what was the story on the PS3000? It was, as you describe, a single-sided drive built in to an RGB color monitor. A few were made, they were not particularly successful, and production was stopped. If you really want one, you may be able to find a dealer who still has one, but it has been quite a while since Atari has shipped any. Hope that's helpful. -- "Question" Mark Jansen UUCP: ...ames!atari!jansen Atari Corporation BIX/GEnie: mjansen These views do not necessarily reflect those of Atari Corporation. I have no figures on howmany may still be in service. Dan/Atari Corp.
