[comp.sys.atari.st] Surface mounted MMU & RAM upgrades

Another plea for information on the upgrading of a 1040 with
surface mounted MMU.  Is the surface mounted chip cabable of
dealing with greater than one megabyte?.  Has anyone out there
succeeded in putting extra RAM in such a machine?.  I'de like
to know so that I can decide if it's worth attempting.
