Hello. I've been trying to use opus 2.2. Apparently, I need an Epson printer driver in order to print. When I try to run FONTWID or any of the other programs, I get a message saying that it couldn't open a "printer workstation". I have GDOS installed, but I have no printer drivers (I have an epson fx80). Is there some relatively simple method to get (or create) such a driver without going out and buying some expensive program that has GDOS included? (I don't really understand whether or not this stuff is "public domain" or not. I've seen the subject bounced around a little, but I didn't really get the sense that it either was or wasn't in the public domain - or at least copyrighted). Anyway, any help is appreciated. There seems to be a lot of confusion about Gdos. To the best of my knowledge, all printer drivers for gdos are commercial. I have not seen any public domain. Degas does not have printer drivers for gdos, nor does it have any printer fonts. Gdos uses different printer fonts for every type of printer. There are pubic domain printer fonts available on the major networks. Easy draw, timeworks, wordup, etc. all come with printer drivers Sometimes. additional drivers or laser drivers are an additional expense. Timeworks came with a fairly complete set of drivers and fonts, and is selling very cheaply now. If you are interested in printing out superior graphics, I would look into buying one of these programs in order to get gdos. ------------------------------------------------------- Stan Liebowitz Department of Econ/Business North Carolina State University Raleigh, NC 27607 try liebo@csclea.ncsu.edu it seems to work, more than I can say for
