Info for people, who couldn't visit the ATARI fair at Duesseldorf ATARI TT info : - 3 additional graphic modes 320 * 480 with 256 from 4096 colors 640 * 480 with 16 from 4096 colors 1280 * 960 with 2 (programmable) colors - MC 68030 with 16Mhz - SCSI (!) and ACSI - 2 serial ports (expandable to 4) - Centronics - 1 internal VME-slot (A 24, D16) - internal hard disk - 8 bit stereo PCM-Sound - 2 MB (expandable to 8MB, 26MB with 4Mbit ram's) - socket for floating point processor MC68881/2 - clock - network hardware - UNIX (X Windows, ..) will be available System memory ist used by the processor and video logic with time slicing. That means that every 250ns the video logic have bus access (wait states ?). The ram's DON'T have 250ns access time! Atari said, that the TT ist four times faster than the ST. Tester said, the TT runs 6...9 times faster ? ----------- conclusion: the TT seams to me an very interesting machine ----------- ATARI 1040 STe info : - 512 from 4096 colors - scrolling (hor., vert.) by hardware - prepared for GENLOCK - 8 bit stereo PCM-Sound - new TOS (256KByte) - ports for lightpen, ..., (6!) joysticks - new designed motherboard (new ATARI-chips, ram modules) -> superb game machine ATARI also shows the STacy (ST laptop) LAN's and PC's Many new ST-Software: TURBO-C with source code level debugger TEMPUS-Word CALAMUS 1.1 WORD PERFECT ....
