Will I be able to run GNU CC on a 1 meg 1040ST with a 20 Hard drive or do I need more memory 8-(. Thanks, Rupert G. Goldie.

You *will* need the hard disk - and you will need *more* than 1Mb if you intend to use GCC. I can't compile the gnu "make" utility on my 1040 --- GCC runs out of memory.
