Does anyone have one of ICD's new Tape Backup units that they could share their experiences about? How do you like it, does it live up to its claims, how good is the software, how reliable has it been, does it really do 6-7 megs/minute backups, etc? Has anyone seen these units for less than $800? How much do the tapes cost? Thanks in advance for any information. -- Mark T. O'Bryan Internet: obryan@gumby.cc.wmich.edu Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI 49008

You really do get the speed they claim. The only bug I've found in the software is that if you try to restore individual files and directories (rather than a full partition), and the directory isn't at the root, the part of the path that wasn't selected isn't restored. i.e. if I have \a\b\c\d and \a\b\c\e on a tape, and try to restore just \c, \c\d and \c\e are restored at the root instead of the correct \a\b\c\d and \a\b\c\e. dgc
