I do recall there was a discussion on the net a while back concerning how and why you could end up with 2.5 meg when upgrading a 520ST. I'm not really concerned with the why's or how's...but I am wondering if there are any consequences (adverse ones, of course) with going with 2.5 meg? Does some software simply not make use of the extra memory? or perhaps not work at all due to a "strange" configuration. You see, I have a 1meg 520ST now, but I'm considering upgrading...the real reason, however, is that I want to have a 2meg Mac running under Spectre128. I was thinking that if I had 2.5 meg in ST mode, that should give me 2+ in Mac mode...and upgrading to 2.5 will be cheaper than upgrading to 4 meg. So, in addition to the earlier question, another is: Will Spectre128 work on a 2.5 meg ST to give a 2+ Meg Mac? Thanks in advance for any responses...post to net or email to me directly-- Gerry maxg@suvm (bitnet) ggreenbe@rodan.acs.syr.edu (internet)
