Does anybody know of a way to expand a Mega2 to 4 megabytes?
If there is such a product available please tell me where I
can get one, how much it costs and whether you have had any
favorable or unfavorable experiences using this product.
Thanks.

Well, the offical Atari method of upgrading a Mega ST2 to 4 megabytes
is to sell your Mega ST2 and buy a Mega ST4. That is the ONLY offical way to
upgrade.

Or, you can do like my local Atari dealer did, and add the extra 2 megabytes
of RAM IC chips to the Mega ST2's motherboard. This, of course, voids your Atari
warranty, as it is NOT an offical Atari Upgrade. And if you ever send your
4 megabyte Mega ST2 back to Atari for an Official Repair/Replacement, you will
get back a stock Mega ST2 without the extra 2 megabytes. This is because, of
course, you added the extra memory in an UnOffical method. Also, rumors has it
that newer Mega ST2s aren't wired for 4 megabytes of memory (no solder traces
running to solder filled holes like in my 18 month Mega ST2). this makes sense,
since Atari has No Offical Upgrade for the Mega ST2.

I am still kinda mad about this. I just hope that my Mega ST2 never
bytes the dust, as I can't afford to send it to Atari for repairs. and lose
my 2 megabyte upgrade in the process.

And you wonder if the TT can be upgraded?? Atari computers are throw
away appliances which are not designed to be upgraded!! So, I imagine that there
won't be any offical upgrades for the TT once it is out!!.

Hmm, will I be able to upgrade my Mega ST2/4 to add the new features in the
1040STE?? No official upgrade to that either I suppose. I guess I will just
have to thrwo away my Mega ST2/4 to upgrade to the 1040STE!!

Atari, makers of disposable, non-upgradeable, computers!!
	But, they are cheap!!
