What follows are the instructions to upgrade a 1040ST by replacing chips, therefore eliminating the need for an expansion board. I also have a suggestion: If a bunch of us get together an buy DRAM in volume they could be very cheap. Chip Merchants has 100ns 1 Mbit DRAMs for $9.35 each, and they have volume discounts for 100 and 500 parts. If six of us get together, considering it takes 16 chips for the 2.5 meg upgrade, we could get the 100 volume discount.
