Re : Looking for Compilers One of the better C compilers is the Laser C (formerly Megamax) Re : Blitter Upgrade for 1040ST I wanted to know if I could install a blitter in my 520STFM. So I went to see my local Atari developer (he just happens to run a shop). He didn't know but said he would ask the Atari rep. *He* didn't know either!!! So back to square one. Next port of call, two mail order companies in UK A) Third Coast Technologies and B) Frontier Software. Both these came up with "If there's a space on the board for one, then yes you can fit one". That means rows of soldered holes mind. Re : What's ST mean ??? According to ST World, ST User and others, SIXTEEN THIRTY-TWO. (This might be incorrect, as it actually seems logical given that the M68000 is sixteen bit externally and thirty-two bit internally.) Re : STFM vs. ST ST stands for, well see above. While STFM stands for ST with "F"loppy and "M"odulator. The ST was the original machine which came without a modulator and had a disk drive plugged in the back instead of internally. The STF replaced it, guess what this had a disc drive built in, and finally a progression to the current version the STFM. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | The University Of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Computer Society | | EMAIL: csoc@uk.ac.newcastle | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+
