Has anyone who has sent in their upgrade cards actually *received* PC-Ditto II?
What kind of turnaround time can be expected?

I have been thinking of sending in my upgrade card but have been hesitant
since I haven't heard of anyone verifying its existance. But......of even
greater interest I just came across another hardware mod for the ST called
PC Speed and it is being sold by Michtron. It is REAL and I have seen it
for sale here in good old New Jersey. It is said to have a Norton SI rating
of over 4.0. A friend has one installed and has found anything yet that does
not run. He is using it with TOS 1.4 and says it is fa----st.

Installation is fairly simple, but does require soldering one socket on top
of the 68000. The hardware board plugs into this socket. The real nice
thing about it is that it is real and available. Its list price is about
$100.00 above the list price of PC-Ditto II. That is $399.00. It appears
to be being made in Germany, but I am not sure of its popularity there.
Has anyone else heard of it?

The latest I've heard on PC-Ditto II comes from Jim Allen, maker of
the FAST Technologies 16mhz board and close friend of Bill Teal.
PC-Ditto II is waiting for parts, most noticablly the ribbon cable
with a special clip that attaches to the 68000. It was decided that
the board would sell more if no soldering was involved, and so a custom
ribbon cable with clip was designed. When? Soon... :-]

I'm very interested, could you provide us more information on this product?
For example:

o CPU and speed? (8086,8088, v20/30, 80286 :-), 8/10/12 Mhz)
o Graphic mode ?
o Version of PC-DOS ?
o Floating point chip support?

The PC-Speed board I mentioned contains a v30 chip and I saw a socket which
I believe is for a co-processor. I am not sure of the clock speed. It runs
CGA graphics and emulates the Hercules in mono mode. I was told that the
screen display on a mono Atari monitor is extremely impressive. Far better
than the standard Atari screen which is already crisp. As I get more details
I will post them on the net.
