[comp.sys.atari.st] NeoDesk, Shel_fix and CRICIT

01659@AECLCR.BITNET (Greg Csullog) (10/24/89)

Codes that call other codes (e.g Signum calling its printer routines,
EasyDraw calling OUTPRINT.PRG) needed shel_fix to work properly. Yes,
I use shel_fix and it works - except on CRICIT. CRICIT editor will not
call CRICIT register and vice versa if these codes were launched from
NeoDesk. They work properly when launched from the standard desktop.

Anyone know why (Dan Wilga, are you out there?)?

Dan Wilga is not on Usenet (or wasn't a few months ago). He can be reached
via e-mail but I can't find his address at the moment - it's in your Neodesk
docs someplace, though.

I don't know about CRICIT launched from Neodesk, but I have been around the
block a few times with shel_fix and Neodesk. I've found that certain auto
programs interfere with shel_fix at times. These programs are G+Plus and
Universal Item Selector II. (I'm sure there are others). Note, I said at
times. I've seen shel_fix work with some progs and not with others, all in
the same set-up.

If you use these progs, I find that the following execution order works
with all my applications:

G+Plus
shell_fix
UISII

Hope this helps!
