Quoting the LJ IIP at $995 is like quoting a PC with 64K of memory. Both are useless since the LJ IIP has a mere 1/2 meg. What's the price with real memory. I think Atari should run a series of ads throughout a TV program. At the start, they would announce that they would be printing DTP files from PC -> LJ, Mac -> LaserWriter and ST -> SLM804. Then they would start the printing. After 5 minutes, a quick commercial break would announce that the ST has finished all 5 pages, the Apple is on its second and the PC... just hang in there. By the end of 15 minutes they could announce that the Mac had wrapped up and wait, wait wait... the PC-LJ combo seems to be giving us the first page. Well, you get the point. Go buy a LJ and hook it up to your parallel port. If you really believe that 2 pages a minute is anything but ASCII or the rate for multiple pages once the printer has received its image that took 15 minutes to receive then I have some nice lakefront property in the Northwest Territories for you guy.
