[comp.sys.atari.st] Calamus Outline Art

MEGGIN@vm.epas.utoronto.ca (David Megginson) (11/12/89)

I don't think we're too far away from a North American release of
Calamus Outline Art, so I thought (with ISD's permission) I'd post an
important warning about it.

All of the compugraphic fonts are drawn as continuous outlines. For
example, there are _only_ two paths in the letter O, one in the letter
I, etc. Outline will work well only with these fonts -- otherwise,
when it shows a font outlined, it will show all of the criss-crossing
lines which you see in the font editor.

If you are designing PD fonts, beware! Also, please put the hyphen (vs.
dash), close quote, etc. in the same place as they are in the compugraphic
fonts. Do _not_ use the free fonts supplied with Calamus as a guide.

I have been beta-testing (and just using) Outline Art for a few months
now, and it is an astounding program. I do not work for ISD, we just get
along well.
