I recently had problems when I first tried to use ZOO -- it bombed with an address trap. It wasn't until it worked OK on another machine that I realised that my early version of Volker Brandt's EDISK was doing the dying due to a (known) bug in the routine to transfer to/from an odd-aligned buffer. I've just recieived the latest copy (EDISK V2.2) so that should fix it, but I'd like to make a plea to the people responsible for ZOO to please try to make sure it only uses evenly-aligned buffers for disk I/O. As Volker says "Maybe *that's* why ZOO is so slow!" (try it yourself sometime and see what the difference in speed is). PS: If anyone has a VAX/VMS version of ZOO they could send me, my BITNET address is IVAN@CAGEIR5A. Thanx! ivan
