[comp.sys.atari.st] ST TeX questions

saj@chinet.chi.il.us (Stephen Jacobs) (11/25/89)

I've been poking around trying to get a complete TANGLE / WEAVE /TeX /
Metafont system on my 1040 ST for a few weeks now. I can supplement it,
when needed, on a VAX where a lot of it is available too. Now I have a
few 'Where can I get' questions, and one 'Where did I get' one.
First: this is really eating me--I have a file atari.mf. I must have
gotten it either in this newsgroup or from comp.sources/binaries.atari.st.
But when I browse my archive files, I don't see it anywhere. Does anyone
know where it came from? (it was one of the files loaded into inimf to
make the plain.bas which I have from cm_mf.arc).
More seriously: I can't ftp. Where do I get dvieps? Also, would it
be reasonable for someone to post a virtex.ttp and a plain.sty to comp.
binaries.atari.st?
For what it's worth: TANGLE and WEAVE work fine with Personal Pascal,
using the long integer option and a few rather obvious redefinitions
(text should be called text, not textfile; correct default case). The
compiler has to be told you want a lot of stack/heap (or is that the linker).

I also have atari.mf (although I have no idea what it is or how to get LaTeXS
to work). It came from dvist3_3.arc.

The file `atari.mf' is packed with the various previewer packages that
we've distributed. Its purpose is to provide those with metafont, the
setup information required to generate the screen fonts. It is not a
TeX/LaTeX file. Apparently, metafont is available for the ST series.
