We have unfortunately purchased about 20-25 DEC Rainbows for use in teaching. The decision was made by a committee.... These are fitted with the "old" 256K memory board that can't be expanded further; needless to say we now need more memory and are trying to find cheap ways of doing this. My questions are: a) has anybody modified the "old" memory board for 256K chips? b) has anybody a design or even a schematic for a board using 256K chips and giving at least 512K total? c) does anyone know of non-DEC suppliers (DEC prices are complete ripoffs) for such boards? If we can't get this done cheaply we may as well just buy replacement machines....-) -- Bob Eager rde@ukc.UUCP rde@ukc ...!mcvax!ukc!rde Phone: +44 227 66822 ext 7589
