I heard that the STacey ( the portable ST ) has just been launched in Holland. Has anyone seen it in the shops yet ? If so what does it look like in the flesh ? How hong do you think you could carry it without discomfort ? The UK launch has apparently been delayed for some time. I think Atari could be on to a real winner here, if only because STacy + Spectre GCR (when it finally arrives ) = the first portable Mac. That doesn't mean to say that I would buy an ST merely to emulate other machines but it will give the STacey a much wider market & hopefully create more interest outside the Atari community in the ST. Sorry senior. Portable Macs (not made by Apple) has been out for
more than a year already. Some company take a Mac SE, tear out the guts,
and installs in on a laptop case. Not cheap, but usable...

Good news....! The STacey has passed its FCC type acceptance testing as of today... according to Atari, it should be in the stores in 30 days or less. BobR

I was at my local Atari store last weekend when a lady came in that wanted to buy the STacy with a Spectre-GCR. I hope that CW gets some of the STacy Spectre-GCRs in soon. Lord Only Knows that he needs more products!! Henry@CW does OK but I would like to see him stay in business (so he'll support my Mega :-) ). And it looks like the STacy could be another winner for Atari!! Hurray!! P.S. Now if only we could get some more Spectre-GCRs from GBS!! -- Richard E. A 'usually reliable source' told me the STacy passed class A certification, but not class B. This would mean it could be sold for business (including musical performance) use, but not for home use. Anyone know for sure? Steve J.
